Just a quick plug for a short piece that recently appeared on the Senate House Library blog. Noting the addition of a recently published book (Authors of the Estate vol. 2) to Senate House Library holdings on community-originated publishing, the piece then goes on to explore some of the community publishers represented within the library, including Centerprise in Hackney, founded in 1971 as the then sole bookshop in the borough.

Links are provided at the bottom of the piece for further reading on the library’s holdings, as well other great resources, including this brilliant virtual trail on Hackney writers as part of the ‘A Hackney autobiography’ project by On the Record, exploring the history of Centerprise as a unique cultural institution.
